Testimonial: JW McGovern, Class of 2012, Yale University Commit
Chris Jasinski, Director of Operations of LacrosseRecruits.com @ 11:34 am
Saint Ignatius Prep Junior, JW McGovern, Commits to Yale Univeristy
Was LacrosseRecruits.com easy to use?
Yes. The website was both comprehensive in its feature set and easy to add videos, transcripts, news articles and all the other materials a coach would be interested in seeing. The recent upgrade of the video management section of the website allows unrivaled control of text, access, and viewers.
Was the LacrosseRecruits.com staff helpful to you throughout the process?
They certainly were. Though we talked mainly to Chris Meade, we occasionally talked to Matt Wheeler. Not only was their information accurate and useful, it gave us the feeling that they'd be able to answer any recruiting question we asked of them. These guys are knowledgeable professionals! When our son was attending camps that hadn't yet appeared on their dropdown menu, a quick call to Chris produced near instantaneous results. Jake Reed's Fall Junior camp, Under Armour Midwest tryouts, and California Gold appeared less than five minutes after I inquired about adding them.
What was the college coaches response to your profile?
In an unusual way, it was terrific. We didn't receive any informational questions at all from college coaches. That's because everything they needed was already on the website: Transcripts, phone numbers and email addresses for both High School and Club coaches, highlight reel and full game footage, stats, summer schedule - just everything.
Being from a non hot bed, do you think LacrosseRecruits.com significantly increased the exposure you received?
I'm not sure how to answer this. Our son had an active summer on the East Coast and was seen by a lot of coaches. My guess is that those coaches first saw him at those events. The booklets those camps passed out contained information about the website on which coaches could check out players. We always listed Lacrosse Recruits as that website. Perhaps it's imperfect information, but our son received two dozen letters from DI schools on September 1st of this year. We have suspected that all those coaches, after seeing him play in person, checked out his Lacrosse Recruits webpages. For sure, we had never talked to any coach from most of these schools, so we credit some large part of their assessment of our son to the things they saw on Lacrosse Recruits.
Would you recommend LacrosseRecruits.com to a friend that wants to play college lacrosse?
I have already recommended Lacrosse recruits to a number of parents. Often, they started out by asking me about a different recruiting website. I always checked out those sites before I responded, but in the end I always recommended Lacrosse Recruits. Some allowed anyone to see confidential information. Some were generic sports recruiting services and didn't provide a place to enter crucial, lacrosse-specific information. Others were primarily video editing shops who appended a half-baked recruiting site as an outlet for their videos. Only Lacrosse Recruits has a complete, thoughtfully designed, secure, sport-specific service. You're to be congratulated for putting together the gold standard of recruiting sites.
